Job Description

A Travel Shop Business Manager (reservations) is required for position in Windhoek, Namibia.
Required to manage 45 consultants.  This senior position is responsible for growing the sales performance of the business through timely and professional delivery and relationship management to agents, guests, internal consultants, operations and all other business units within the company.
Key areas of responsibility
  • Driving the team to improvement of sales and reservations
  • Oversee, direct and lead the daily operations of the business unit
  • External and internal relationships are managed effectively to ensure the best service delivery to agents, guests and other business units.
  • Contribute and implement strategy to develop and grow our agents from a sales and relationship point of view
  • Prepare an annual market unit rolling forecast based on set parameters
  • Solve problems and complaints expediently and guide market units accordingly
  • Continually review and improve processes
  • Review business results and take steps to improve results through business development, quality control measures and efficiencies
  • Manage and develop departmental staff
  • Develop capacity for the business by ensuring systems are utilised optimally
  • Promote the brand through product offering and professional service delivery
  • Local and overseas travel required

Salary

N$50 000.00 (equivalent R50 000), negotiable

Required Qualifications

Travel diploma, at least 8 years’ experience of which 5 years in senior sales position

Minimum Requirements
  • The suitable candidate is focused and dynamic, detail orientated and self-motivated with excellent communications skills that allow quick and effective implementation through a diverse and multi-tiered team of up to 45 personnel
  • Managerial skills, financial acumen, strong systems knowledge, administrative and time management skills are essential in this role
  • A proven track record, and a deep understanding of the day to day challenges, the hours and the intensity of the travel and service business.
  • A strong PR slant with the ability to develop sound working relations with people both internally and externally is vital
  • A minimum of a Bachelor Degree with at least 8 years’ experience of which 5 years are in a senior sales position with the ability to design and translate strategy into understandable components
  • High stress tolerance and the ability to handle multiple tasks will be essential
