Job Description

To meet the reporting and related operational requirements of Bidtravel, Bidserv and Bidvest.

Finance structure :

  • To ensure that the finance structure is appropriate and optimal for the business.

  • To ensure the structure is adequately resourced with the correct people.

    Internal Controls :

  • Monitoring and maintenance of internal control systems designed to safeguard the assets of the business against identified risks and ensure completeness of revenue.

  • Management of the financial and operational risk of the business.

    Audits :

  • Internal Audit – plan and implement the internal audit plan and ensure clean reports by addressing the issues identified.

  • External Audit - plan and implement the year end audit process.

    Business analysis :

  • Report on financial benchmarks so as to provide the business with relevant information on which decisions can be made.

  • Perform the analysis required to timely identify trends in the business requiring operational action.

  • Prepare and review pricing and client financial review documents.

    Reporting requirements :

  • Preparation of flash reports, monthly reports, board reports and all other financial reports

  • To ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders:  BidTravel, BidVest, CWT, Exco and Board.

    Budget :

  • Prepare the annual budgets.

  • Consolidate, review and present the budgets to EXCO.

        Working capital management

  • Manage debtors so that CWT targets are exceeded.

  • Manage cash flow.

    Business Role :

  • Assist whenever required in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients.

  • Support the acquisition of new business from a financial perspective.

Management of IT to the extent required to produce meaningful financial information for the business.

Required Qualifications

  • The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar (nonnegotiable)

  • Knowledge of financial reporting; accounting systems; business analysis; general business; tax; and risk management.

  • 5 years experience in a financial role.
