Job Description

Purpose of the job
  • To act as travel consultant, representing global TMC clients when they are closed overnight, during the weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Book and confirm flights, car, hotel, transfers, Eurostar and any third party requirements for clients using multiple Global Distribution Systems (GDS)  on online tools for ship crew, corporate or any other type of traveller
  • Adhering to and policing client profiles
  • Document all actions undertaken accurately within PNR
  • Log all calls details correctly for billing purposes.
  • Be a team player and provide assistance to co-workers
  • Understand intricate international airline fares and ruling
  • Retrieve and understand company BAR instructions
  • Basic knowledge of Visas
  • Handle and overcome objections in a professional yet effective manner
  • Issuing and reissuing tickets. Creating MPD AND EMD where applicable
  • Able to liaise and set up bill payments to hotels, order currency and arrange car payment vouchers.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude while performing work that is subject to critical time constraints.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Knowledge
  • The ideal candidate must have a minimum three years’ experience with a corporate travel
  • Management Company.
  • Diploma in Travel & Tourism / equivalent NQF Level 5
  • A strong background in international and domestic re-issues
  • Be fully conversant with at least one of the GDS systems (Amadeus)
  • Knowledge of fares and ticketing regulations
  • Must have good geographic knowledge
Skills
  • Good Listening skills

  • Ability to liaise effectively with clients at a senior managerial level
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail
  • Must be a creative fast thinker with the ability to work effectively under pressure
Experience
  • Previous experience in a business travel role is essential
