Job Description

This position requires a fast paced, proactive approach towards achieving positive results for the product he/she is responsible for. To be the custodian of the product with the aim of developing the assigned destination in respect of growth in market share and profit. This person will be responsible to ensure that all facets of the destination and products are managed and to maintain and build strong supplier relationships. Also responsible for managing a business unit, ensuring contracts negotiated and received are relevant and in line with the product strategy ensuring they are processed and distributed to the various divisions and stakeholders in a timeous manager.

You will be required to work closely with many different departments within the organisation, bringing them all together with a result to contribute to the company revenue and profit.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills (Ability to interact with all levels of management, customers and staff.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting contracts, commercial agreements and service level agreements - Must have a precise understanding of contracts and their terms and conditions.
  • Experience working with margins, costings and finances.
  • Strong Administrative, numeracy skills and information gathering skills.
  • Tourism Diploma and proven track record of a minimum of 10 years in the travel industry preferably working in a tour operator environment and in a contracts environment.
  • Working experience in negotiating contracts.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office Applications - Outlook, Office.
  • Knowledge of Travel Studio will be an advantage.
  • Good Global Geographical knowledge.
  • Able to work outside of normal working hours and travel when required.
