Job Description

The Intermediate Corporate Travel Consultant is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling incoming requests via multiple channels (i.e. phone, email, walk in etc.). The travel consultant is the primary point of contact for the customer and provides active travel consultation towards the business customers, including providing travel details and up-selling of related product.
This position performs at an expert/intermediate level and demonstrates an extensive understanding and applicability of all areas in the travel industry. Works independently on requests. Takes the initiative to provide assistance to team members and management as requested.
 
Duties
  • Quote and confirm domestic, regional and international flights and land arrangements of individual and group bookings
  • Book and issue airline tickets on the Galileo GDS and Lia Reservation System
  • Access the BSP Link to process EMDs
  • Clear Galileo Q’s twice per day
  • Process vouchers on the Quicktrav Front Desk system
  • Supply concise travel itineraries
  • Confirm Business and Leisure travel
  • Processing own refunds
  • Process visa applications
  • Capturing of booking on inhouse online self-booking system
  • Emergency phone to be manned on a rotation basis for a period of one week per consultant
  • Practice teamwork and has the enthusiasm to assist colleagues

Required Qualifications

Knowledge required:
  • Must be in possession of an Amadeus Certificate
  • Must be fully proficient with Amadeus Ticketing on the GDS
  • Ticketing and Fares knowledge – IT Fare knowledge would be an advantage
  • Automated Refunds via Amadeus/BSP Link
  • Quicktrav Front Office System
  • Document Producer
  • MS Windows and MS Office
  • Have an excellent understanding of airline terms and travel industry knowledge

Previous work experience required:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Travel Consultant. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, have attention to detail, must be accurate, customer focused, a positive outlook, excellent team player, committed, hardworking and eager to learn. 
 
Preference will be given to EE Candidates.
