Job Description

Atlantis Corporate Travel is seeking the employ of a knowledgeable, well experienced accountant responsible for the Finance Department .

The Finance Manager will be reporting directly to the CEO/ Chairman. The ideal candidate will have two (2) direct reports and 12 indirect reports. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for all entities which are trading in the group
  • Preparation and submission of all Tax calculations (Income tax, provisional tax, VAT, IT14SD, deferred tax, PAYE), when due
  • Managing the corporate month end accounting process
  • Assisting the divisional financial manager on tasks that may arise
  • Assisting the group bookkeeper on tasks that may arise
  • Signing off on all credit card recons
  • Signing off on all petty cash recons
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in terms of IFRS for SME
  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure that the audit runs smoothly
  • Ensuring that all companies are compliant in terms of all legislative requirements
  • Attending to all finance meetings and assist in resolving all queries that come about from management
  • Ensure that all companies are tax compliant on a monthly/yearly basis
  • Assist in preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis
  • Assessment and calculation of provision for bad debts
  • Calculation of loyalty reward provisions based on terms set out by management
  • Ensuring that all agreements are up to date
  • Recalculations of rebates due to the company
  • Loading and releasing of payments
  • Processing of month/ year end journal entries
  • Oversee the debtors collection ensuring that issues are resolved timeously
  • Develop and implement processes within the finance department to ensure smooth running of the department
  • Any other ad hoc tasks that come about

Salary

Salary highly negotiable dependant on experience - between 50k-65k+ per month.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • B Com Accounting Degree
  • Post Graduate Diploma /Honours degree (would be advantageous)
  • SAICA Articles completed
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role
