Job Description

This consultant's job consists of regularly communicating with corporate customers to help book reservations and provide price quotes as requested. This includes determining the best solutions in accordance with company policies and preferences to help maintain customer satisfaction. This also involves carefully maintaining profiles for each client so that they earn points in rewards programs and have any special requests accommodated.

The corporate travel consultant typically works in a highly independent environment, so the ability to function confidently with minimal supervision is important. Other necessary skills include good judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and email. Although there are usually no specific educational requirements, most positions require a minimum of four years in experience with travel consultant work. Tools and equipment used in this role may vary by company, but Apollo GDS is common; proficiency with these technologies may be required prior to applying for the position.

Assist in arranging and booking all aspects of business travel for corporate clients, booking air, car, train, and hotel reservations for highly complex, multiple destination, international itineraries.  Resolve travel related problems that client may experience with travel arrangements.  Utilize computer reservation and global distribution systems to arrange travel, preferring vendors that maximize client experience and company profits.  Maintain excellent client relations with prompt, accurate responses and excellent telephone and service etiquette.

Required Qualifications

Diploma in Travel, Amadeus certificate.

Minimum of 4 years in experience with travel consultant work. Apollo GDS. Must have good judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and email. Amadeus working knowledge.
