Job Description

Time management, and willingness to assist clients until their travel needs are met a MUST!

Assess the client’s needs and expectations for a travel experience, and then provide them with the best travel options.  Work to build an ongoing relationship with the customer to open the door for future bookings through the company.  Must be high energy and able to work in a fast-paced environment, as they often work with clients that have a wide variety of needs related to planning travel. Clients' travel needs may be for work, vacation, or family.  Ensure that every detail is taken care of and that no problems arise during travel. Aspects of a trip that clients may coordinate include flight plans, hotel registration, and car rentals.  Responsible for coordinating trip activities.  Normally work in an office setting during regular business hours; however, some clients may require different hours because of time zones and their schedules. May be required to work on weekends and some evenings.

Many companies require experience in sales or service. Customer service skills are very important in this job, as travel consultants work with clients on a daily basis and must effectively solve issues that may arise in the course of travel planning.  Must be well versed in basic computer software and highly organized, as clients need information in a timely fashion.

Work with airline and hotel services to find best rates for customers. Stay apprised of current airline industry rules and regulations and inform clients of changes that may affect them when traveling. Maintain client loyalty program accounts and ensure proper point redemption procedures are followed. Build and maintain relationships with clients to create convenient and affordable travel plans.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or equivalent. Amadeus certificate.

Minimum 4 years experience. Customer service skills. Amadeus working knowledge.
