Job Description

Amazing Holidays is a travel brand known for curating exciting holidays for today’s traveller and we’re recruiting the services of a travel consultant. If you are based in Cape Town, passionate about travel, client service and sales, this may just be your dream job.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience as an international travel consultant, with a relevant tertiary qualification in travel.

Required Qualifications

Key skills for position 
  • Matric with a suitable Travel and Tourism qualification
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • A love of travel sales and a proven track record of converting enquiries into bookings
  • A minimum two years’ experience selling overseas holidays
  • GDS experience will be an advantage
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to close sales, handle leads and upsell to clients
  • Previous CRM experience will be an advantage
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing complex travel itineraries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Social media savvy
  • Passionate, trustworthy, enthusiastic and hardworking
  • Excellent time management and team player
  • Always going the extra mile

General Details

Duties of an Amazing Holidays Travel Consultant 

  • Responding to client travel enquiries across various platforms and mediums. Professional written and verbal communication at all times.
  • Create and manage  spreadsheets for travel bookings and enquiries.
  • Researching and timeously compiling of holiday package quotations based on client enquiries and requests.
  • Booking of hotels, transfers, flights, car rental, meals, tours and such for clients.
  • Quoting done through the GDS, supplier platforms and manually.
  • Handling of group booking and enquiries.
  • Performing according to company brand standards, behaviour skills, turnaround times and KPA’s.
  • Assist with invoicing clients, preparing travel documents and managing internal databases.
  • Monitor and reconciliation of client and supplier payments, invoices and statements.
  • Travel booking changes and cancellations.
  • Rotational after-hours service support and shifts.
  • Undertake and assist with projects and research as directed by Management.
