Job Description
- The Sales and Marketing Manager will drive brand awareness, client acquisition and effective marketing across Africa for a portfolio of Plaza Premium Group brands including: Plaza Premium Lounges; Aerotel Airport transit hotels; Aerotel Refreshhh airport facilities; and other airport hospitality services within the Group.
- He/ she is expected to develop and execute a sales and marketing strategy for Africa in the respective markets, with a keen attention to the travel ecosystem and consumer lifecycle, to ensure sales growth
- The role is based in Johanessburg, South Africa and is open to applicants with exisiting work rights in South Africa (sponsorship cannot be provided). Travel to other countries may be required.
Sales Strategy Development and Execution
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand PPG’s reach with potential B2B (airports/ airlines/ banks/ corporates/ travel agencies, etc.) and B2C for Plaza Lounges, Aerotel, F&B outlets and other products and services offered by the Plaza Premium Group.
- Meet annual sales targets, as determined by KPIs set with the General Manager Africa.
- Source and secure new major clients and form working relationships with key clients in the market.
- Analyze and track partners’ performance to identify business potential and opportunities.
- Effectively communicate PPG’s value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Accurately forecast future sales and market trends and adapt the sales strategy as needed to maximize company profit.
- Understand the current competitive landscape for various PPG products to inform innovative sales and marketing approaches.
- Plan and implement integrated marketing approaches that drive brand awareness, brand loyalty, client acquisition and sales stimulation to ensure pasenger growth and revenue generation, with clear Key Performance Indicators for every marketing initiative to ensure effectiveness and return on investment.
- Drive marketing channels strategy including, but not limited to, PR, events, social, advertising, database marketing, trade & partner marketing, brand collaborations etc.
- Develop and maintain social media profiles and quality content on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and build & maintain relationships with press, bloggers and KOLs to maximize brand and product publicity.
- Manage the marketing budget, to deliver all marketing projects within scope.
- Supervise marketing agencies and / or in-house design team in executing marketing and PR campaigns and promotional design or artwork.
- Develop and produce marketing collateral based on PPG’s global brand guidelines e.g. point-of-sales displays, print advertisements, eDM, digital banners, premium gifts, brochures to support sales and marketing activities.
- Work closely with Group Marketing team at Head Office to ensure local marketing efforts are aligned with global strategy. Also work with the eCommerce team in Head Office to implement effective digital marketing campaigns and maintain local promotional updates on global brand website(s).
- Work closely with the General Manager, Africa and Country Managers in Africa to plan and execute effective strategic promotions to drive sales for the various brand portfolios.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis on market landscape, competitor’s analysis, consumer behaviors and media consumption for effective marketing planning.

Required Qualifications
Degree holder in Business Management & Sales & Marketing or related field.Job Requirements
- Degree holder in Marketing or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales, marketing or business administration experience at managerial level, preferably in hospitality or the aviation industry.
- Extensive experience developing sales and marketing strategies that diversify revenue streams.
- Proven track-record of generating revenue and sales growth, particularly in new business areas.
- Hands-on experience with inbound marketing systems and familiarity with marketing automation practices.
- Expert knowledge in the latest social media and digital platforms to best leverage services as part of the global business marketing strategy.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people from different backgrounds and at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.
