Job Description

Responsible for promoting and selling tours(groups/FITs/Incentives) to all agents or individuals by providing world class service to all clients in order to achieve sales targets in line with the departmental and regional goals

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications required by the position:

•Matric (Essential) with above average marks in English
•Travel Diploma (essential)
•Sales Diploma (an advantage

Minimum Experience required by the position:

•3 years travel industry experience essential
•Exposure to Airline reservations systems

General Details

•Understand and promptly respond to what the agent/client needs
•Dealing with individual, group and incentive travel arrangements
•Liaise with our production manager, suppliers or consultants on specific product information or requirements
•Provide several itinerary options for consideration, by the agent, designed around guest needs/desires using experience, knowledge, guidance and information available
•Sell products taking into account product availability and yield management ensuring profitability
•Issuing of invoices and purchase orders
•Issuing vouchers and preparing welcome packs for clients
•Opening and maintaining client files
•Close sale on 1st quotation (ideally)
•Follow up on all quotations within 48 hours and keep a weekly track record
•Ask for competitive quote from travel agents and determine if possible to match and even better the quote
•Recommend alternatives (product, price, availability) to quotations to travel agents in order to close the deal
•Up-sell & switch-sell at all times
•High standard of telephone and written etiquette to be maintained at all time
•Maintain database of hotel or relevant tours service providers to improve information forwarded to clients
•Produce quotes based on clients request using available resources
•Assist product manager with producing new products
•Attend educationals/site inspections to broaden product knowledge when necessary
•Booking file to be completed and kept up to date with all relevant information in line with company policy
•Airline ticket and/or supplier release time limits to be monitored and met
•Ensure that bookings are not requested or held within cancellation penalty periods
•Follow up and record all payments made/received (in consultation with creditors clerk & FM)
•Adhering and complying to polices outlined in our Operational manuals
•Timeous preparation and distribution of travel documents
•Perform meet and greets with clients when required.
•Providing and maintaining 24/7 contact with clients whilst on tour
•Mutually resolving touring issues
•Recon of bookings and handover of files for accounts to close off.
•Distribute feedback forms and collect relevant reports
