Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, including gardens, Reptile Park, security and the farm. Guarantee and optimization of the smooth and efficient work flow in this department. Looking after the assets and keeping them in good condition

Required Qualifications

Trade Certificate in Electrical, Building, Plumbing and Maintenance
High college Diploma in a related field of engineering
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a maintenance manager

General Details

Operational

Establishing and implementing operating manual and standard operating procedures.
Management of all Risk aspects of the hotel
Budgeting and controlling of energy usage, maintenance expenses and preparing new projects.
Guaranteeing cleanliness within all engineering outlets
Establishing, implementing an effective preventative maintenance program
Management of the nature reserve
Co-ordination of waste and recycle management
Creating monthly statistics and co-coordinating a smooth administration within the engineering office.
Reinforcing policy and regulations in compliance with hotel standards
Responsible for induction program as it relates to health and safety at the work place.

Employee Relations & Management

Scheduling vacation and controlling of working hours.
Supervision of all engineers
On the job training programs
To implement training, assessment and annual performance evaluations in co-operation with the Human resources and Training Departments
Scheduling employees in accordance to company rules and regulations
To ensure that the outlet employees are Multi Skilled and have the necessary skills to perform their duties with maximum efficiency, through consistent training in accordance with the Annual Training Plan.
To ensure that all employees maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Employee Rules & Regulations.
To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
Work closely with the Human Resources Manager on all Human processes.
