B2B Manager

Travelstart aims to launch a B2B solution in May 2013. It is envisaged to pilot the product in the South African market, prior to launching the product in other markets.

The Travelstart B2B solution will be a web-based travel booking tool that will allow the user to search, book and pay for air tickets online, on behalf of their customers.

Location: Travelstart Head Office based in Cape Town

The primary focus of the B2B client-base will be:

• Existing IATA agencies that do not wish to continue operating with
their IATA licences
• Non-IATA agencies
• Independent Travel Consultants (ITC’s)

Secondary focus will be:
• Small micro to medium sized enterprises (SMME’s)

Purpose of the role:
• Identify & sell our product to new potential B2B customers
• Build & maintain strong relationships with these new customers
• Ensure that our B2B solution offers the best value in the market and
remains highly competitive
• Ensure sustained profitability of this category
• Grow transactions in the South African market by a pre-defined
percentage over next 5 years

Responsibilites:
• Implement set business plan for this category, along with
achievement of agreed targets and goals
• Ensure development of product to spec
• Ensure Contracts and Service level agreements (SLA’s) are signed
and are adhered to
• Ensure that the solution offers the best value to the B2B customer in
the market and remains competitive
• Identify suitable new B2B customers
• Effectively sell our B2B solution to these new customers
• Building & maintaining strong relationships with new and existing
customers
• Proactively assisting B2B customers to drive sales and increase
transactions
• Ensuring sustained profitability of this category
• Continual improvement of the B2B solution
• Recruit and manage a B2B support team

Required Qualifications

Skills & experience required:
• 7-10 years travel industry experience
• Sales and management experience essential
• Key account management experience beneficial
• Business degree beneficial
• GDS, BSP, Quicktrav knowledge & experience essential
• Proficient at Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English – other languages would be beneficial
• Excellent writing and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Deadline focused
• Flexible
• Calm and effective approach to all obstacles and scenarios.
