Job Description

Purpose and Context of the Job
Comair Limited, a JSE listed Aviation Company, is looking for applicants for an Operations Manager based in Randburg, Gauteng at the Comair Travel offices. The Operations Manager’s responsibility is to manage the daily operation of Retail Travel Services to ensure each of the functions are running efficiently in order to maximize productivity and revenue in line with business segment goals.

Key Performance Areas
  • To lead and supervise reservations to ensure that they are equipped to effectively fulfill their reservations function.
  • To manage the function of the ticketing unit to ensure maximum productivity, accountability and efficiency within the department.
  • To monitor the speed and quality of all communications between the reservations department and suppliers and customers in order for service level targets to be met.
  • To ensure the departmental financial objectives are met from both a budget/cost management and sales targets perspective.
  • To maintain a detailed knowledge of the travel reservations process in order to respond to problems effectively and timeously.
  • To effectively manage relationships with supplier/customer in terms of quality customer service and communications.
  • To perform general management functions to ensure smooth running of the department.

Required Qualifications

Requirements 
  • Grade 12 (Essential).
  • Tertiary qualification/ diploma/ certificate in Travel and Tourism (essential).
  • GDS qualification (essential) with (Amadeus/Sabre/Galileo) - desirable
  • International Fares & Ticketing (essential)
  • Sabre Interactive qualification (desirable)
  • IATA/UFTAA (desirable)
  • PaperTrail (Desirable)
  • 6 years’ experience in an IATA registered corporate TMC (Travel Management Company) (Essential)
  • Handling international reservations, ticketing and refunds (Essential)
  • With 2 year’s management/supervisory experience (Essential)
  • With 2 years’ experience working on a GDS (essential)
