Job Description

  • You will be responsible for visiting and systematically prospecting South African travel agents with the aim of selling Hotel reservations.
  • You will build and maintain excellent client relations, by visiting all your customers.
  • You will respond to direct needs, demonstrate the extensive possibilities of our Hotel booking Engine and advise where necessary.
  • You will assist in the execution of the marketing strategy.
  • You will aim for a growth in market share, volume, turnover and profit.
  • You will represent Gateway at trade fairs and present the product range to relevant target groups.
  • You will keep yourself informed about the customer’s satisfaction in terms of the quality of Gateway’s services.
  • You will report to the Gateway Sales and Marketing Manager South Africa.

Salary

Base salary + bonus

Required Qualifications

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in sales with extensive knowledge of the South African travel industry.
  • You have excellent negotiation, sales skills and you are an effective communicator.
  • You are a born networker and comfortable in maintaining and building new relationships.
  • You are an independent, customer oriented person who knows how to reach the defined targets in a flexible and dynamic manner.
  • You are willing to travel in the Kwazulu-Natal province and occasionally in other provinces (eg. Gauteng).
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills in Afrikaans and English. Understanding of Dutch IsiZulu is a plus.
  • We expect a good knowledge of Microsoft office and the internet. You also have an affinity with most common systems and software in the travel industry.
  • You have a Western European working mentality and the capacity to work in a competitive, fast changing environment.
