Purpose and Context of the Job
Comair Limited, a JSE listed Aviation Company, is looking for applicants for a Luxury Travel Advisor position based in Johannesburg, Gauteng at Comair's Head Office. A Luxury Travel Advisor is required to generate revenue, maximize productivity, maintain high service levels and reach targets through the fulfillment of email, phone, web and direct enquiries for new or existing high end customers. To manage the concierge desk for mtbeds and to assist high end customers with specific, experiences, itineraries, group bookings and tour plans.
Key Performance Areas
- To customize hotel/game lodge bookings, itineraries, group bookings/ corporate/ team building
bookings/ conferences / in order for the customer to use all / any selected products.
- To deliver prompt, efficient and effective service within required timeframes in order to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- To ensure pre-payment is received by specified dates in order to avoid penalties & ensure bookings are still secure.
- To convert a maximum number of calls and enquiries into secured bookings which increase our revenue & margin.
- To build relationships with suppliers in order to ensure the best possible rates and confirmed bookings.
- To broaden and maintain product knowledge in order to extend the best possible service to customers.
- To perform general administrative tasks required within the department.

Required Qualifications
Qualification:
- Grade 12 (Essential)
- Tertiary qualification in travel & tourism (Essential)
- Amadeus qualification (Essential)
- 5 year experience within a wholesale or retail travel department (IATA registered) handling domestic / regional/Indian Ocean Islands reservations for both corporate and leisure (Essential)
- With 2 years’ experience dealing with corporates / groups / MICE (meetings/incentives/conferences/ exhibitions) weddings/ team buildings (Essential)
- With experience in selling and booking international product (Desirable)
- With experience in constructing creative customised itineraries (Essential)

General Details
Purpose and context of the job: To generate revenue, maximize productivity, maintain high service levels and reach targets through the fulfillment of email, phone, web and direct enquiries for new or existing high end customers. To manage the concierge desk for mtbeds and to assist high end customers with specific, experiences, itineraries, group bookings and tour plans. The Luxury Travel Advisor reports directly to the Reservations Team Leader. This position is accountable for confirming bookings and acting as a trusted advisor and confident to the customer with regards to creating customized packages, itineraries, activities, outings, weddings, tour plans and group bookings for high end LSM 10 customers based on enquiries received. The critical component of this position is to ensure that all enquiries are converted into secured booking, targets are reached, and revenue is increased as well as new business generated. The job will entail providing an end to end customer experience, liaising extensively with Top customers, VIP’s, preferred agents, dedicated concierge clients and suppliers and to build strong relationships ensuring all customer needs are met in order to build a loyal client base leading to repeat business and regular travel. The job incumbent will provide information, advice, suggestions & recommendations to the clients specific to their needs and to ensure that all requirements and requests are included in the specified holiday booking (correct visas, accommodation, transport, transfers, activities, insurance, Forex, important information etc). Revenue - is dependent on the number of people and type of bookings request. Furthermore, the job incumbent will provide a concierge service to high end / blue chip customers which would include special treatment for the customers if requested or if booking exceeds a certain spend (e.g. SLOW Lounge access, gift baskets etc.) and being available / reachable for customers after hours in case of emergencies. Internal liaison therefore takes place within the reservations team and product / marketing team. External liaison takes place with travel agents, customers, airlines, 3rd parties, suppliers, embassies, internal partners and reservations consultants / sales & marketing on the supplier side.
