Afrikaans - Airline Reservation Agent Opportunities in the Online Travel Industry
Our company, a fast-growing online travel and tourism business based in Westlake, is expanding. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and professional individual, who shows a passion for excellent customer service. The company is offering a permanent position, and the successful incumbent's primary role will be to offer support to guests, and internal booking support via various communication channels.
Remuneration on offer is a fixed-base amount, as well as an additional flexible commission that will be based on your own abilities and performance. Required Qualifications
Qualification:
Minimum requirements:
- Bilingual with first-language Afrikaans. (non-negotiable)
- 5 years working on GDS in a travel agency as a consultant.
- 2 years minimum in a senior position doing all international routes.
- 2 years minimum in ticketing providing a sound understanding and knowledge of the fares / ticketing.
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
- This position will require you to provide support to guests and internal booking agents with any query they may have.
- Provide the highest level of service to the Company's clients, as well as internal booking agents.
- Be able to converse with, and advise management on client feedback;
- Must be flexible, and a team player.
- Must have a positive attitude.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in Afrikaans and English.
- Must have the ability to work independently, with strong organisational- and administrative skills, attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritise work load according to the most urgent flight- and travel requests.
- Must have experience in quoting, confirming and changing domestic-, regional- and international flights on the Galileo Smartpoint system.
- Have an excellent understanding of airline terms and travel industry knowledge.
- Must be able to issue tickets.
- Must be able to do refunds and cancellations.
- Must be able to do manual fair builds.
- Must be in possession of a Galileo Certificate.
- Must have an extensive knowledge of Galileo.
- Must have strong computer skill (Windows 10, MS office etc.).

Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a travel-industry role will be beneficial.

General Details
Working Hours and Public Holidays
Agents will be working in shifts from 08:00 to 17:00.
Agents will be required to work some weekends, depending on shift allocations. Usually, this won’t be more than 1 weekend per month, either a Saturday or Sunday. Agents will be compensated in time back for working on weekends.
Agents will be required to work some public holidays and will receive double their daily rate for these shifts.
