Qualification:
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will oversee Thompsons Travel’s operations and will be the company’s second-in-command, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). On achievement of the goals, as set out for the position, the candidate would in due course take over the running of the operation and report to the Group CEO.
We require an experienced and efficient leader, with excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethic.
To manage the business in a changing environment, embracing online technology through dynamic websites and various media platforms
The candidate should have the following qualities:
- Leadership, interpersonal skills, high level of emotional intelligence
- Knowledge of operations in both corporate and leisure travel management
- A keen eye for detail
- The ability to make fast decisions that are, at the same time, well thought out and not ‘from the hip’; that are in the best interest of the company and the customer equally
- Financial management intelligence at a reasonable level
- The ability to work between all disciplines of the business
- Sales strength – to fulfil hosting and back up to the sales department
The position will work closely with the CEO, working through the key elements of operating in a retail environment with all its various aspects and getting the complete backing of all operations players.
The retail departments are located in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
