Job Description
Goal
The goal of the Sales Manager’s role is to convert the stream of people expressing interest in GVI’s products into the maximum number of bookings, through the recruitment, training and close management of a sales team based in GVI’s Cape Town office.
Specific responsibilities
A. Recruit, retain and motivate a team of highly-skilled sales professionals.
B. Develop and deliver “technical” training (sales skills) and product training to the team of sales people. Develop a system to determine training priorities per individual and for the team as a whole.
C. Determine shift structures to ensure sales people are available at the times and through the media GVI’s customers require.
D. Coach individual members of the team on their sales technique, including lead handling, technical skills and product knowledge.
E. Work with the sales people to ensure maximum cooperation within the team.
F. Measure performance of the sales team against the primary indicators of sales performance, and timeously address any variances.
G. Manage the implementation of initiatives to achieve the commercial goals of the organisation.
H. In coordination with senior management, develop and implement a program of effective incentives.
I. Coordinate sales activities with other functions across GVI, including base operations, support, marketing and finance.
What does success look like?
An increasing proportion of people expressing interest in GVI’s programs are persuaded to book on.

R30,000 to R50,000 subject to experience. Portion of this based on team performance.

- Demonstrable track record of managing high performance inbound sales teams.
- The interpersonal and leadership skills necessary to motivate and lead a sales team to achieve exceptional results.
- A passion for developing people, evidenced by a commitment to one-on-one sales skills coaching and exhaustive product training.
