Job Description
The main objectives of this role are to:
- Take responsibility for all financial reporting and management reporting to all stakeholders in the group including; directors, management, clients and the bank as required, and ensure that such reporting is timeous and accurate.
- Ensure that information produced for all users is produced timeously, is free from risk of material fraud and/or error, that systems and internal controls are in place to ensure delivery of this information and to protect the Company’s assets and cash flows.
- Pprovide strategic leadership and coordination in the administrative, accounting and budgeting efforts of the Company and give the group comfort that the financials are free from error and/or fraud and that all amounts reflected in the books are accounted for.
- Oversee the financial operations and accounting of Flightsite.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programmes and supporting information systems of the Company to include budgeting, tax planning and conservation of assets.
- Work with the Group Financial Manager and the accounts team at the Company to ensure systems and controls are in place to ensure operational efficiencies are optimised and conducive to accurate and timeous reporting and the optimising of the Group’s working capital position.
- Ensure compliance of reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements and hence that records and systems are maintained in accordance with IFRS.
- Preparation of financial statements and financial reports for the Company.
- Compile monthly financial packs, as well as, year-end packs in accordance with the requirements of the holding company and its deadlines and prepare for the audit to ensure that there are no audit adjustments required.
- Ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for in the books and returns are submitted timeously and accurately to prevent any losses to the company as a result of VAT errors.
- Ensure reporting is against budgets and investigate any variances.
- Seek methods that minimise financial risk to the company in conjunction with the Group Financial Manager and directors as required.
- Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the Company in conjunction with the Group Financial Manager and the Operational Accounts Manager.
- Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
- Research and analyse financial reports and market trends to provide value added reporting and interact with managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial reports, special analyses and information reports.
- Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation, and protect and develop the group's brand. Represent the group at various community and/or business meetings to promote the group.
- Maintain and develop Flightsite’s culture, promoting the Company’s values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers and partners.
- Remain flexible to the wider business needs of the group by rendering assistance for ad hoc projects and duties as required.

General Details
- Minimum of 5 years working experience
- Accounting degree with a post graduate degree in accounting (ideally a CA in progress)
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles. In particular a good up to date knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS), VAT, tax and basic Company law.
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Professional written and verbal communication, as well as, interpersonal skills.
- The role requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- People skills to work with business owners, management, auditors etc.
- Ability to work within a team, focused on providing month end financials to multiple businesses and value-added management information.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Intermediate Excel and Outlook
