Job Description

This role will be best suited to a candidate with strong Corporate Travel experience as a senior consultant, who is looking for a new challenge, assisting direct clients with their online flight, car and hotel bookings. You will work closely with the Reservations Team Leader and Operations Travel Manager to deliver excellent and efficient customer service.  You will be responsible for assisting with the servicing (changes, refunds) of existing bookings made by our clients online, as well as assisting with new reservations (car rental, flights, hotels), in the event that the service cannot be booked online.

You will advise clients of all disclaimers and T&C’s at the time of booking, as well as on required travel documentation needed when travelling (passport validity, visas, health etc.). You will be sure to advise clients of all 3rd party conditions attached to their potential bookings, prior to processing their bookings.  Strong understanding of complex routings as well as strong international fares knowledge and experience.

You will be required to assist the ticketing team with issuing of new tickets, reissues and refunds on an adhoc basis.

Required Qualifications

Qualification:

Matric Certificate or equivalent.

Related Travel qualification or Travel Diploma.

Minimum 8 years working experience as a travel consultant, with strong corporate experience.

Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Galileo Smartpoint.

QuickTrav experience (ideal).

Extensive domestic and international fares experience, coupled with a high understanding of airline fare rules.

Domestic and international manual re-issues and EMD’s, from Point to Point to Complex.

BSPZA Qualification (ideal) with the ability to process refunds through GDS and BSP Link.

Domestic and International Refund Calculations.

Knowledge of Corporate and Group Fares.

Group Fares and Ticketing.

Quality Control Management.

Strong airline relationships.

Tech Savvy with confidence in using multiple systems.

Process driven and strong ethics.

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Great communication skills.

Self-motivated and shows initiative.

Self-starter who works well in a team.

Able to work responsibly when unsupervised.

Collaborates well with other departments.

Ability to actively listen and extract relevant, key information.

General Details

Travel Agency based in Johannesburg.

Monday to Friday, 08H00 -17H00 (shift).  Saturdays 09H00 – 12H00 on a rotational shift basis.
