Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of the job is to generate sales revenue from new and existing customers and maximizing revenue generation within specific key regions.
General overview:
In this position you will be responsible for sales methodology and managing accounts throughout the sales process including account penetration, sales process planning, negotiation, and closing. This includes accurately forecasting business and market needs, formulating and supporting the Head of Sales with a planned implementation of the sales strategy, achieving sales targets, while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Additional responsibilities include understanding market requirements, product capabilities and future industry developments and trends; working with marketing, sales support, and other key departments within the company. The successful candidate must be solution driven.
Key responsibilities:
Prospecting, qualifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities within defined territories. Forecasting and tracking of sales opportunities. Achieving sales targets. Understanding industry trends, product capabilities and customer requirements for sourcing potential new clients. Establishing executive level, long term customer relationship for future cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Ensuring customer satisfaction. Implementing your proven sales experience, demonstrating a strategic approach with support from the Marketing Supervisor in (i) identifying market size and focus; (ii) developing sales pipelines; (iii) penetrating new accounts; and (iv) driving the sales process through the selling environment to close deals. Conduct site inspections and client entertaining as required which may include out of hours and weekends. Represent the company at local and international trade events. Planning and execution of international sales trips to visit existing and potential clients. Additional responsibilities as requested by your manager.

Qualification:
Inbound Tour Operator in Cape Town.
A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous (Tourism; BCom; MBA).
2-4 years sales experience within either the tourism / hospitality industry.
Willingness to travel internationally (approx 20%).
Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and be able to navigate different cultural environments.
Strong problem solving and analytical ability.
Additional languages in one or more of the target markets would be advantageous.
Proven Track Record in over achieving performance targets.
Proven sales experience, demonstrating ability to (i) identify market size and focus; (ii) develop a sales pipelines; (iii) penetrating new accounts; and (iv) driving the sales process through the selling environment to close.
