Job Description
The candidate will be required to implement the business strategy of the domestic arm of the Bidtravel Leisure brands, namely Bushbreaks & More and Luxury Connections. The candidate will require a good understanding of the requirements of each brand and how to deliver a robust and competitive domestic strategy for both.
The required candidate will be responsible for :
- The execution of BidTravel business plans in accordance with their business model
- Supporting the CEO’s in fulfilling the sales and delivery strategy of the brands
- Selecting product in accordance with the applicable client profile and product marketability
- Identifying opportunities both from a product and pricing perspective to maintain and grow sales
- Receiving competitive – and where possible, exclusive – rates from suppliers and analysing suitability for the respective markets
- Identifying opportunities for rate negotiations based on dynamic inventory with suppliers
- Effecting competitor analysis and responding accordingly
- Working closely with the Leisure Buying department and understanding the processes required
- Management of rates contracts
- Identifying which rates and room type to be used when briefing the loading department
- Delivering on a programme that is aligned with the company’s rates and reservations systems and maximising these available resources
- Maintaining and growing the relationship with suppliers
- Encouraging suppliers to make rates available through API connections
- Sourcing rates specials for the Bushbreaks mailers
- Working closely with the marketing team to ensure the rates being advertised are correct on the various marketing platforms
- Management of consultant rates queries

Required Qualifications
Qualification:
Required :
- Degree in business, or a travel related field is preferable
- Diploma in the travel industry
- Tourplan experience preferable
- Knowledge of travel industry
- Good geographical and product knowledge of Southern Africa
- Extensive knowledge of rates structures in the travel industry and discounts
- 7 years’ experience in the Travel industry
- A strong understanding of the Southern Africa domestic market
- Experience in dealing with rates structures in the travel industry
Skills :
- Good negotiating skills with suppliers
- An eye for detail in contractual negotiations
- An ability to analyze rates and identify trends and opportunities
- Good communication skills to liaise between management structures and staff
- An understanding of marketing would be an advantage
- The ability to work independently as well as in a close-knit team
- A sound understanding of the operation processes and systems of the business
- Be able to work under pressure and with short lead-in times.
