Airport Supervisor Based at O R Tambo International Airport
Reporting to the Airport Duty Officer, the Airport Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and secure handling of Air Mauritius flights at O R Tambo International Airport while ensuring a high level of service delivery standard to passengers.

Requirements
- Matriculation – Grade 12
- Minimum 5 years’ airport handling experience of which 2 must be in a supervisory position of a safety critical function.
- Be conversant with Airside Ramp Safety, DGR and Aviation Security Procedures.
- Good knowledge of IATA SGHA procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to operate independently within the guidelines stipulated in the Air Mauritius GOM – Ground Operations Manual.
- Strong customer service skills
- Understanding & knowledge of:
- IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations,
- Airside Safety Awareness
- Security Awareness
- Ground Operations
- Weight & Balance
- Understanding of CAA, ICAO, IATA and ACSS guidelines
- Knowledge of passenger check-in and baggage Handling
- Reservations, Ticketing and Amadeus knowledge also compulsory
- Computer/IT Skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills and a command of the English Language.
- French an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Ground handling Liaison and actions, manage GHA teams effectively and monitor performance during the flight.
- Oversee ramp operations with the primary objective to stop/prevent any unsafe acts in close vicinity or around the aircraft.
- Ensure only trained and qualified ground handling staff are assigned on MK flight.
- Proactively contribute to safety and service improvement initiatives.
- Deliver pro-active and timely service recovery by liaising with the Duty Officer.
- Handle any disruptions to check-in process effectively. Keep customers informed of any delays as instructed
- Complete all pre & post departure flight documentation, reporting and statistical data.
- Execute all reservations & ticketing requirements i.e. EMD’s.
- Actively promote any MK offers to customers, as applicable
- Ensure MK branding and signage visible in relevant areas
- Depute the Duty Officer whenever required.
