Job Description
This position is designed to channelize and synchronise all the Inbound or outbound tours operations activities to support & increase sales of the branch / country for Inbound or outbound tours sales. You will be responsible for promoting and booking traveling arrangements for individual clients or groups. The goal is to enhance satisfaction and acquire an expanding and dedicated clientele. This position directly reports into Branch Manager.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creative and out of the box planning and designing of leisure FIT tailor-made itineraries
- Managing the reservations process including handling of bookings from quote to finalising, including invoicing and travel documents
- Ensuring turn-around times are strictly adhered to according to standard operating practices
- Understand the regulatory and compliance issues in relation to running the inbound tourism activities
- Proactive selling of products and services ensuring the best possible itinerary for the guests
- Constant, consistent interaction and clear communication with colleagues, agents, operators guests and suppliers
- Build new strategies to grow the inbound business and achieve the targets.
- Maintain a good relationship with all the overseas or local hoteliers and suppliers.
- Responsible for marketing inbound or outbound tourism services, locally and internationally.
- Must have at least 5 years inbound or outbound tour operating experience
- Good understanding of delivering excellent service to agents/guests
- An in-depth geographical, logistical and product knowledge of South Africa & Southern Africa for an inbound consultant
- Communication skills and an excellent command of the English language (spoken and written)
- Time & desk management including working in an orderly focused manner
- The ability to work under pressure and show initiative
- Understanding of the travel industry – inbound or outbound Tour Operating specifically would be preferable
- Elaborating in writing explanations or descriptions of the tour itineraries
- Calm and professional manner of servicing agents/guests
- An independent, curious and “can do it” nature
- Assisting management with capturing month end reports

Qualification:
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Educational Qualifications –Diploma / Graduate Tourism/Travel-Related Qualification (degree/diploma/certificate) preferable
- Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience – minimum 3 Years
- Functional Skills Negotiation Skills, Good Communication, Team player
- Basic knowledge of computer
- Self-Starter and works under minimum supervision
