The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of all financial transactions and processing systems within the Corporate Finance Department as well as ensuring the reporting to stakeholders, including customers is value-adding, timeous and accurate. The incumbent will be responsible for the management and financial reporting that accurately reflects the performance and financial position of the company, versus budgets and forecasts and be a part of the executive team, tasked with meeting shareholder objectives.
The FOM will further need to ensure effective internal controls are in place along with implementing and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
Financial management/ Reporting:
Lead the annual budget process within the Corporate Accounts, in line with Shareholder expectation including leading the Senior Corporate managers in the budget formulation process, ensuring Hub and divisional budgets support the main budget and shareholder objectives
Manage and ensure appropriate controls on GL maintenance, invoice payments, disbursements to clients, drawdowns from investors, journal processing, 3rd party payments, salary funding, debtors, taxation, and control account reconciliations
Discuss monthly management accounts with Club Travel Corporate management to identify trends to enable early correction when necessary.
Ensure that reporting to management and stakeholders is value adding and allows for easy measurement against key financial targets
Drive business profitability with the CEO (and key Managers) to ensure that revenue opportunities are maximised, input costs are at most optimal levels and individual business units and accounts are measured and interventions aplied where required to ensure optimal profitability.
Oversee BI reporting to customers and engage with customers to ensure their reporting needs are met and expectations exceeded
Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures, and systems across all teams
Internal Processes/Technology:
Evaluate and review of all company assets and new asset acquisitions and maintain proper asset register
Ensure a disaster recovery plan and business continuity plan are in place
Stakeholder Reporting:
Work with the CEO cultivations of stakeholder relationships, as well as assist in business development and negotiation of contracts
Serve as one of the trustees and oversee the administration and financial reporting of the organization’s Savings and Retirement Plan should such participation be required
Strategic Planning:
Assist in formulating the company’s future strategic direction and support tactical initiatives
Monitor and direct strategic business plans with the CEO and COO and Club group executive team
Work with the CEO cultivations of stakeholder relationships, as well as assist in business development and negotiation of contracts
Assist in the design, implementation, and timely calculations of wage incentives, commissions, and salaries for the staff
Investigate and implement cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits that the organization may offer employees and potential employees to attract and retain qualified individuals
Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities
General:
Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process;
Absolute control over the working capital environment to ensure cash flow is maximised and customers and supplier terms are negotiated to achieve cash flow optimisation and are met to ensure excellent relationships with all stakeholders
Serve as one of the trustees and oversee the administration and financial reporting of the organization’s Savings and Retirement Plan should such participation be required
Support in the recruitment and the performance management of all finance staff.

Qualification:
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Postgraduate Accounting and /or Management Accounting, Articles, would be advantageous
Certification in either: CIMA or ACCA , would be advantageous
5 years + experience in a Financial Leadership role
Essential to have: Business Intelligence/ Data Analytics experience

Well-developed problem-solving and negotiating skills
Experience in a senior management position and in dealing with executives in customer and supplier environments.
High levels of integrity and in dependability
Discretion and awareness of confidentiality
Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
Experience within corporate governance.
Good understanding of the Travel industry, may be an added advantage
Experience with budget management, public accounting, and cash flow.
Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
Ability to inspire confidence and rapport with staff/clients and suppliers
