Description

Consult with Investec clients in order to compile quotes and issue domestic, regional and/or international multi-city flight bookings, whilst delivering out of the ordinary client service. Upsell clients on hotels, car hire and travel insurance as needed.  The role also entails working closely with the online ticketing team to manage all support functions related to online tickets including special requests and schedule changes. This role requires a passion for air travel combined with a commitment to upholding a clear duty of care for clients.

• Ability to work afterhours emergency shifts (for a 7-day shift) every 4 to 6 weeks on a rotational basis – additional payment applicable
• Ability to achieve the individual targets as set out in the Flight Consultant KPI and performance targets and collect applicable service fees.
• ADMs are reported as risk events and depending on the quantum and severity, may give rise to a performance process
• Process online check-ins for clients where applicable.
• Ability to consult on latest visa requirements

Required Qualifications

Qualification:

Experience, skill and capability

• Minimum 10 years advanced air ticketing international experience ideally in a leisure travel environment. Corporate experienced consultants may apply too (Leisure focus of the role is very different though)
• Amadeus GDS Proficiency – at least 5 years’ experience and currently using Amadeus.
• Ability to book and service NDC bookings through Amadeus NDCx and other providers eg Verteil / Thomalex and others
• Ability to reissue tickets (voluntary and involuntary) and refund tickets on Amadeus GDS
• Aptitude for internal IT and CRM systems (training will be provided on internal systems)
• Strong knowledge of International / multi-city fares
• Proactive approach to travel (e.g., schedule changes / airline grounding, weather / meticulous daily queue management)
• Anticipating client’s challenges and proactively solving
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ownership, Accountability & Responsibility
