Job Description

My client, one of the largest travel distribution companies in the world has an opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer to join the senior team in the South African operation.
The CFO will report operationally to the local MD and functionally to the Global CFO.

The Role :
* Leading a team of 50 people with full responsibility for the financial, legal and company secretarial portfolio for the South African Business.

* Play a strategic role within the senior team and an operational role within the business

* Create the appropriate financial control environment and ensuring all key financial risks are addressed and proactively monitored, addressed and resolved

* Help to identify the operational opportunities and threats to the business’s bottom line

* Provide positive leadership to achieve the necessary outcomes throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

Qualification:
 A qualified CA with financial savvy, a strong background in Financial, Asset and Risk Management and demonstrated experience in legal and company secretarial competency
 A commercially savvy individual with the ability to identify operational opportunities and threats
 A, credible and strategic individual who is able to perform effectively within the senior team and as “Co-Pilot” to the Managing Director and who also has the ability and willingness to play more of an operational role when necessary
 A passionate, driven, energetic person with an exceptional work ethic and a strong sense of urgency who is able to integrate and to contribute in a diverse and dynamic environment
 A collaborative leader who is able to coach and mentor in an autonomous environment creating change through understanding and motivation
 Advantageous would be exposure to technology and process solutions in a financial environment
