Job Description
- Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums,
polishers, buffers etc. – report any malfunctions to the Facilities
coordinator
- Maintain facility in sanitary and infection-free condition through
washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
- Plan work schedule for major tasks
- Empty trash containers daily
- Wet mop floors in all rooms and bathrooms daily. Damp mop all
corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily
- Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, daily
- Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky
faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or
screws etc.)
- Wash windows as scheduled
- Check entire area for spills; water etc. periodically, especially in
residents’ bathrooms.
- Check Canteen area daily
- USE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN ALL HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
- Manage and monitor the current cleaning company as well as cleaning
staff
- Manage the roster of current cleaners and the running thereof
- Report to the Facilities coordinator

Required Qualifications
Qualification:
- Matric certificate
- Minimum of 2 years previous housekeeping experience - essential
- Good Communication skills
- Managerial or Team leader skills advantageous
