Required Qualifications
Qualification:
Purpose of Role
- You will be responsible for continuous refinement and improvement of the e-commerce process of Africa's largest online travel agency including overseeing the continuous design and implementation of new workflows and processes to improve customer experience driving increased conversion and maximising return.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and driving the implementation of new products, suppliers and partners, expanding distribution channels and increasing inventory in multiple markets across the Middle East and Africa;
- Monitoring bookings that have been placed on the schedule change queue;
- Management of commercial/technical relationships with key suppliers and partners across all Travelstart markets including global contract negotiation, pricing and delivery of diverse systems ranging from GDSs suppliers, direct airline connections, payment aggregators and business intelligence data;
- Building a supply strategy through integration of multiple sources and diverse points of sale across multiple markets to source inventory and optimise both depth of offering and transactional yield;
- Evaluation of new business opportunities, partners and new markets including design of system changes to maximise the potential of these partnerships;
- Not afraid to have opinions;
- Relishes problems as a challenge to solve; and
- Relationship builder with partners and suppliers.
Experience:
- Experience in OTA /GDS minimum 3yrs at junior management level or above;
- Amadeus WBS experience including designing workflows and integration into a proprietary platform, troubleshooting and refinement;
- Knowledge of travel industry practices and systems particularly geared towards the air sector;
- Proficient in GDS processes in particular Amadeus online and offline systems; and
- Up to date on industry trends and distribution channels across multiple markets.
