The key deliverables in this role will be to:
  • Overseeing the travel related operations and services;
  • Management of six direct reports and 80 indirect reports;
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of Travelstarts mission -- specifically, support better reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning;
  • Implement achievement of agreed targets and goals;
  • Implement and drive KPI;
  • Coach, support and guide team managers ensuring they will reach their goals;
  • Development of individual program budgets;
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between functions;
  • Drive initiatives in the management team and organisationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence;
  • Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans;
  • Ensure scheduling is optimised for workload and to forecast trends and volumes during and after work-hours;
  • Maintaining good working relationships between all Travelstart teams;
  • Maintain quality and quantity within all teams and identify where it is lacking (provide actions plans to address where it is lacking);
  • Ensuring that set deadlines are met within the teams for all tasks and that set procedures are adhered to;
  • Costs to be kept to a minimum (head counts and cost accounts);
  • Growing profit accounts where possible and showing good return on investment; and
  • Overseeing that training and coaching needs are met throughout the teams .
Expectations:
The focus of the role will be:.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Processing Manager to ensure smooth running of the Customer Experience and Processing Teams;
  • To put effective action plans in place for projects, unforeseen events and new processes adapting them where necessary and following through;
  • To be optimisation-minded. This means implementing strategies to ensure teams are giving our customers a superior level of service, while managing your reports’ workload and ensuring daily tasks are fulfilled as cost effectively as possible;
  • Guiding and supporting team managers ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to achieve their goals; and
  • Upholding the core values of the company and ensuring a happy workplace for all.

Required Qualifications

Listed below are the minimum requirements with regards to skills, competencies and abilities needed for this role:
  • The ability to manage individuals and large teams in a busy environment;
  • Outstanding communicational and written skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Conflict Management Experience;
  • Data Centric; and
  • Time Management Skills.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 - 6 years operations experience;
  • Middle management experience essential;
  • Senior Management experience beneficial but not essential; and
  • Africa Experience beneficial but not essential.
