Travel Team Leader (Permanent) Gauteng- Sunninghill, Johannesburg -Retail

Job Description

  • Manage and lead a small team of Travel Consultants and handle day to day travel operations including leave management, after hours scheduling, team one-on-one’s, weekly team calls etc.
  • Consult and attend to VIP EXCO as well as other general travel reservations including domestic, regional and international travel bookings
  • Handle all elements relating to team management, administration, query resolution, compliment and complaint resolution, supplier engagement
  • Work closely with the Travel Manager to identify efficiencies and help guide the travel team through operating processes and team training and mentoring
  • Handle Team Leader reporting, including open ticket reports, call stats reports, consultant productivity and more.
  • Ensure team adhere to standard operating practices and policies
  • Oversee and support team members and clients on online booking platforms.
  • After hours service – on a rotational basis

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Travel and Tourism
  • Galileo and Amadeus GDS certification
  • Prior experience working on an online booking platform
  • Advanced fares certification
  • Min of 5 years working in a travel environment
  • Min of 2 years working as a Team Leader managing a team of consultants
  • Ability to work on Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Power Point and Word
