We are currently seeking an Intermediate Flights Specialist to join our vibrant and talented team. As a Flights Specialist you will carry out the travel booking process in order to create an efficient, effective and cost-conscious service. As an ideal candidate you will have excellent travel and industry product knowledge in domestic, regional and basic international destinations. A strong command of the Amadeus Reservation System is a must. This is a customer service industry, so a personable character and the ability to communicate clearly are required.

The role will cover a broad range of responsibilities which will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Professional travel consultation
  • Handling and attending to all client travel requirements
  • Providing expert advice on all travel products and destinations, catering to client preferences
  • Communicating all information pertaining to client bookings (luggage allowances, travel insurance, passport, visa and currency requirements, etc)
Confirming reservations
  • Attending to travel and related bookings in accordance with the client travel requirements
  • Confirming reservations on behalf of clients
  • Checking that external supplier confirmations and invoices are correct
  • Processing accurate invoices, including the relevant service fees at the time of confirmation
Producing accurate travel documentation
  • Making sure that payments are received before issuing documents
  • Issuing air tickets with the required ticket time limits
  • Providing clients with a comprehensive e-itineraries
Providing after sales service
  • Keeping clients well-informed of schedule changes, industrial actions and anything else which might affect their travels
  • Cancelling unwanted travel services before departure to avoid no-show fees and cancellation penalties
  • Ensuring supplier invoices are processed, allocated, and checked in a timely manner and authorized by the relevant department(s)
  • Capturing and maintaining information for analysis and reporting
  • Obtaining ad-hoc feedback from clients in order to increase service levels

Required Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is detail-orientated, passionate about client satisfaction and who possesses:
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate & leisure travel
  • A relevant travel & tourism diploma or degree
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Advanced Airline/Amadeus fares and ticketing qualification
  • An ability to communicate clearly in client interaction and about technical issues
  • A motivated, ambitious and adaptable personality
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent selling and negotiating skills
