Job Description

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and have a genuine commitment to customer service
  • Ensuring high attention to detail and customer service is always maintained
  • Plan and sell transportation, accommodation, insurance and other travel services
  • Cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advise them of appropriate destinations, modes of transportation, travel dates, costs and accommodation
  • Provide relevant information, brochures and publications (guides, local, customs, maps, regulations, events, etc.) to travellers locally and internationally
  • Book transportation, make hotel reservations and collect payment/fees
  • Deal with occurring travel problems, complaints or refunds
  • Accurate input of all files into systems (correct values on all vouchers , timeous invoicing to meet account deadlines)
  • Ensure all payment from clients for deposits and final payment are invoiced/received in accordance with the Suppliers’ terms and conditions
  • Meet profit and sales targets
  • Develop itineraries in-line with market requirements
  • Ensure client documentation is completed accurately and timeously
  • Assist in customer service issues (pre/during/post tour)

Required Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification in Travel/Tourism is preferred
  • Proficient and fully competent in GDS, MS Office etc.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in tourism/hospitality/sales/marketing
  • Good understanding of local and international tourism trends
  • Must be culturally aware, flexible and able to manage diversity
  • Strong communication skills, assertiveness, confidence
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, and strong negotiation and selling skills
  • Must have maximum flexibility for traveling both locally and internationally
  • Must be able to work all days of the week and weekend outside the normal office hours should this be required by die business
  • High energy levels
  • Must have knowledge of all market segments
  • A team player with attention to detail
  • Problem solving necessary
