Job Description

Thompsons Holidays is looking for an enthusiastic customer centric orientated Regional Manager, who has a positive attitude, great communication skills, can effectively listen, builds relationships and has the ability to mentor and lead a great Team.
 
With strong leadership and a service excellence focus, this person will be responsible for the achievement of regional budgets, sales targets, turnover and profits.
  • Responsible for motivating and leading a team to generate required results
  • Achieve sales targets and drive employees to achieve personal targets, reduce losses and meet regional budgets
  • Maintain Service Excellence standards and strong customer relationships
  • Streamlining of the business unit through systems and processes.
  • Drive effective communication within the business unit and between the various units of Thompsons Holidays/Cullinan Outbound Tourism
  • Manage a Regional Budget
  • Problem solve
  • Staff management

Required Qualifications

  • Travel Diploma (preferred)
  • Business Management Qualification or equivalent - an advantage
  • Amadeus Certificate
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Tourism and Travel industry including 3 years practical experience in managing a medium to large team
  • Practical Understanding of the Outbound wholesale Travel Market and Tourism and Travel Industry
  • A practical understanding of Managing Market and Product Research
  • Good global Destination knowledge  and good understanding of the Thompsons Product Range
  • Working knowledge of MS office Applications – Excel, Outlook, Office , PowerPoint
  • Competent in working with calculations and costings
  • Competent in Report writing
  • Strong People and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, open minded and confident
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities
  • Good organisation skills
  • Experience in implementing and managing systems and processes
  • Experience in managing and directing a team to increase performance and productivity
  • Experience in handling company budgets and targets
  • Good understanding and reading of contracts and understanding of net, gross, margin, profit, room types and air fares
  • Travel will be required
  • Availability after normal working hours may be a requirement, subject to business demands
