Job Description

This position is a work from home (remote) position, that requires the candidate to provide their own reliable internet connection (at their own cost) and electricity supply, even during load shedding.

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day support of consultants, with regards to the end-to-end documentation, quoting, operations, reservations, and emergency support of all bookings. 
  • Destination knowledge of Southern and East Africa.

  • Ability to adapt to and work across multiple cultures.

  • Highly customer/client focused.

  • Self-driven and able to work flexibly to meet deadlines and turn-around times.

  • Ability and willingness to work with local operations, sales and purchasing teams effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work remotely, without supervision and be productive.

Salary

R20,000 - R30,000 Gross

Required Qualifications

  • DMC experience ( Inbound)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (particularly excel) & internet.
  • Strong communication skills via phone, email and Skype. 
  • Experience working in Wetu, Tour Plan and or Travel Studio preferable. (Reservation System software)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English language skills (written and verbal).

General Details

  • Working effectively with other departments in the business, understanding the inter departmental flows and dependency, across countries and continents.
  • Sharing duties on a 24-hour standby phone and working shifts.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Friendly, flexible and a sense of humour! 
  • Standard: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00.
  •  Shift week: Responsible for the emergency number on all company bookings travelling within East and Southern Africa.
  • Exception: Might be required from time to time to adjust working hours to accommodate meetings with the overseas team, according to the time zone difference.
